The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home having a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 more info 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to 2025 nsfas application research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
